Academic Training: Tongji & King AbdulAziz Universities

Dr. Turdimuhammad Abdullah (Turdimuhammad Abdullah) completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai (2007–2011), followed by his M.Sc. (2012–2014) and Ph.D. (2015–2019) in Chemical Engineering at King AbdulAziz University (KAU) with highest honors. His doctoral research spearheaded the fabrication and surface engineering of electrospun nanofibrous architectures for regenerative medicine, wound healing, and drug delivery platforms.

During his doctoral and post-doctoral work, his technical breakthroughs culminated in 8 granted United States (USPTO) patents and 2 published patent applications (10 total patents), recognized internationally for translating nanoscale engineering principles into viable medical innovations.

EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship at ITU

Following his Ph.D., Dr. Abdullah was awarded a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA-IF / Co-Fund) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 framework, conducting postdoctoral research and serving as an Associate Researcher for 3 years at Istanbul Technical University (ITU).

His work focused on multi-stimuli responsive polymer hydrogels, shear-thinning bioinks for 3D/4D extrusion bioprinting, and microvascularized constructs capable of sustaining high cellular viability.

Industrial R&D Leadership & Kocaeli University Appointment

To bridge industrial innovation and applied science, Dr. Abdullah served as Research Development Project Leader at İZEL KİMYA SAN. TİC. A.Ş. (2023–2026), directing R&D initiatives in smart materials, advanced polymers, and specialized resin and coating chemistries.

He currently serves as an Assistant Professor (appointed under Higher Education Law Add. Art. 46) in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Kocaeli University. His laboratory directs multidisciplinary research in wound dressing membranes, targeted chemotherapy release kinetics, and biofunctional orthopedic and cardiovascular scaffolds.
